Microscope work can become physically demanding because the visual target constrains where the head and torso can move. Good ergonomics starts by bringing the microscope to the user instead of forcing the user to adapt continuously to the microscope.
Align the optics first
Eyepiece height and angle should allow the head to remain close to neutral. If the user must repeatedly crane the neck forward to see, changing the stool alone will not solve the problem.
Support fine hand work
Precision tasks benefit when the arms have a stable reference and the shoulders remain relaxed. Depending on the procedure, a rotating forearm or torso support may help, provided it does not interfere with sterile technique or access.
