Device Charging Carts for Medical & Nursing Colleges

Device Charging Carts for Medical & Nursing Colleges

Medical colleges, nursing schools, and paramedical institutes run shared device fleets that are structurally similar to hospital ward fleets — but with distinct workflow patterns. Devices move between classrooms, simulation labs, clinical skills centres, and library study areas. Charging infrastructure must be mobile, secure, and capable of handling mixed device types across multiple student cohorts per day.

Rife Medical supplies charging carts and cabinets specifically suited to medical and nursing education environments — with the capacity, mobility, and security features that institutional IT and academic administration teams require.

Medical & Nursing College Device Fleet Challenges

  • Multiple cohorts per day: Devices are used by different student groups across morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. Carts must fully recharge devices between sessions — timer/sequencer models allow scheduled overnight or inter-session charging.
  • Mixed device types: Medical colleges often run mixed fleets — Chromebooks for administrative tasks, iPads for anatomy and imaging apps, and Windows laptops for clinical software. Adjustable ABS dividers accommodate all in one cart.
  • Movement between rooms: Carts move between lecture halls, simulation labs, clinical skills centres, and library areas. Heavy-duty 6" castors with brakes are essential for safe movement across campus floor surfaces.
  • Security between sessions: Devices must be secured between student cohorts. Dual-key locking prevents unauthorised access during breaks and overnight.
  • IT management: Institutional IT teams need rear access to manage MDM enrollment, software updates, and charger replacement without disrupting device storage.

Recommended Configuration for Medical Colleges

For lecture halls and large labs (30–40 students): RLAB40 or CP2 series. The CP2 is recommended where the lab electrical circuit is shared with AV equipment, projectors, or other high-draw devices.

For simulation labs and skills centres (20–32 students): RLAB30 or RLAB32. Compact enough for lab environments, with sufficient capacity for a full student cohort.

For library and self-study areas: 12-Bay Charging Cabinet as a fixed point for student device loan and return.
