Installation starts with compatibility, not assembly

A hospital computer cart rollout should confirm device size, VESA pattern, equipment weight, keyboard/mouse needs, power load, network method, storage requirements and cleaning workflow before carts are configured.

Technical deployment checklist

Device & mount compatibility

Confirm monitor/AIO VESA pattern, laptop footprint, CPU size, scanner/printer accessories and the total supported load.

Power planning

For powered carts, record wattage, desired runtime, charging locations and the devices that will be connected simultaneously.

Network access

Confirm hospital Wi-Fi coverage, authentication method, roaming requirements and any wired-network requirement before rollout.

Endpoint security

Coordinate device login, locking, user access, antivirus/endpoint controls and physical security with hospital IT policy.

Cable management

Route power and signal cables so adjustment and movement do not create pinch points or loose trailing cables.

Clinical cleaning

Confirm the hospital-approved cleaning process for cart surfaces, electronics and accessories. Do not assume every cleaning chemical is compatible with every material.

Height & ergonomic setup

Set work-surface and display positions for the intended users and verify sitting/standing workflows where relevant.

Site acceptance test

Test brakes, mobility, stability, power, device operation, network access and accessory security before clinical handover.
